UK Future Analysts’ Network Spring Meeting – Powering People’s Lives: Sustainable Energy Management and the Built Environment (SEMBE).
The main quarterly networking opportunity for futures practitioners in the UK public sector. On this occasion it also includes a full presentation and overview of the key findings of the Foresight report, Powering Our Lives: Sustainable Energy Management and the Built Environment (SEMBE, 26 November 2008) by Dr Jim Watson.
The Report is the culmination of a two-year project reviewing the scientific evidence base, pooling academic thinking, and taking a longer term perspective. It explores how the UK built environment could evolve to help manage the transition over the next five decades to secure, sustainable, low carbon energy systems that meet the needs of society, the requirements of the economy, and the expectation of individuals.
