Centre for Research in Futures and Innovation (CRI-FI) is acting as a project partner in this INTERREG IVB Project tasked with developing and delivering specific futures methodologies and workshops.

IMCORE aims to promote a transnational, innovative and sustainable approach to reducing the ecological social and economic impacts of climate change on the coastal resources of North-Western Europe.

IMCORE, Innovative Management for Europe’s Changing Coastal Resource, is a consortium of partners that are examining the impacts of a changing climate for coastal regions of North West Europe. The project consists of 'couplets’ of academic insitutions and local partnerships. This structure will help the project to understand the social and economic implications of a changing climate for people who live and work in those regions.

CRI-FI is the specialist futures partner within the project, and will be working on a number of work packages dealing with scenario building and Delphi surveys. The project in Wales is being led by the Earth Sciences School at Cardiff University, with the Severn Estuary Partnership as part of the 'couplet’. The Lead Partner for IMCORE is the Coastal and Marine Resource Centre at the University College, Cork.

The €6M IMCORE project is financed by the INTERREG IVB North West Europe Programme.
